Step 1: To find the battery replacement for your UPS first find model number sticker on your UPS. The location and supplied information varies by manufacture, but will contain a Model Number and/or Part Number needed to find the correct battery replacements.
Step 2: Input this part number into the search bar located at the top of our web store and press the search button. Please note that some model numbers may contain spaces, and if your search turns up no results try without spaces.
Step 3: Locate your exact model number from the search results. If you cannot locate your exact model number please contact us through a phone call, or email. We are constantly adding replacement battery kits for more UPS Model Numbers.
A Power Swap battery kit consists of a replacement battery module or tray with new batteries installed inside. Our Power Swap program allows for quick and easy battery replacement solutions for several UPS manufacturers including APC, Eaton/Powerware, and HP/Compaq.
In recent years we have seen sales people from numerous UPS manufacturers make the claim that use of any battery but their own will result in them voiding the warranty on the equipment. This is illegal under both US and European law. You will notice that while they may make this claim, they will never provide anything in writing.
The basic objective of the US antitrust laws is to preserve and promote competition and the free enterprise system. These laws were passed on the fundamental belief that private enterprise and free competition are the most efficient ways to allocate resources, to produce goods at the lowest possible price and to assure the production of high quality products. Illegal tying is one of the most common antitrust claims. Simply put, a tying arrangement is an agreement by a party to sell or provide one product or service --the warranty service-- but only on the condition that the buyer also purchases a different product --the battery-- (often known as a positive tie), or at least agrees that he will not purchase that product from any other supplier (often known as a negative tie).
In the most basic sense, the seller has tied two products together, as if in a knot. The only way the buyer can get the one product is to also purchase another product that he or she may or may not want. In antitrust law, there are some arrangements or restrictions that have such a damaging effect on competition that courts have ruled them per se or automatically illegal.
This is one of the few practices that the United States Supreme Court has determined to be illegal per se under the Sherman Act, S 1. (The Sherman Act is a Criminal Statute with felony consequences. It also has civil remedies.)
An Unfair Trade Practice means a trade practice which, for the purpose of promoting the sale, use or supply of any goods or services, adopts any unfair method or unfair or deceptive practice. Under the state and federal laws the injured party can recover economic losses and attorneys' fees.
Private individuals and corporations that are injured by violations of the U.S. antitrust laws, including the Sherman Act, Clayton Act or the Robinson-Patman Act, may sue for injunctive relief, three times their actual damages, and their attorneys' fees (15 U.S.C. §15).
If you have questions regarding antitrust laws in the US, or you feel your company has been threatened you can contact the Department of Justice Antitrust Division at 888-647-3258 or visit their website at http://www.usdoj.gov/atr.
If your UPS has multiple batteries, it is good practice to replace all of them in the set. This is because if one fails in a set obtained at one time the others are nearing their useful life expectancy.
To test individual batteries in a set, simply follow the instructions in “What is the proper way to test a battery?” Section.
This procedure requires a DC volt meter.
Step 1: Disconnect the battery from any power source, this is for your safety. A battery connected to a power source can cause electrical shock or burns.
Step 2: If you’re DC volt meter has a knob setting, set it to a value higher but close to the voltage rating of your battery. For example, if a battery has a voltage rating of 6 volts set it to 10 and if a battery has a voltage rating of 12 volts set it to 20. If you’re DC volt meter does not have setting insure that it can read values higher than the voltage rating of your battery with a range of at least 4 volts above the voltage rating of the battery to be tested.
Step 3: Connect the probes of the DC volt meter to the matching color posts on the battery and note the reading. If the battery is a 12 volt rated battery it should read above 12.5 volts if the battery is good and if the battery is a 6 volt rated battery it should read above 6.5 volts if the battery is good.
Note: The reason it should read higher than its volt rating is due to the batteries construction and shows that it is currently holding a charge. If a battery reads only its volt rating after charging has been attempted, it cannot hold a charge and should be replaced.
There are no different risks to replacing your battery with a quality battery that is not OEM. Our battery kits are compatible with UPS manufacturer’s OEM batteries. This means you are getting a battery that meets or exceeds the manufacturer’s suggested replacement. We use quality tested batteries from the leading battery manufacturers, such as EnerSys, Vision, and Haze.
We have made many efforts at the request of customers to have different manufacturers approve third party batteries for use by their customers in their devices. We have been unsuccessful in this endeavour. Batteries have become a lucrative profit center for most manufacturers who are reluctant to jeopardize their profits by authorizing a competitor.
Some manufacturers have suggested that customer needs to comply with the NEC and the NFPA ("association") codes. This is another artificial and anticompetitive barrier. We have confirmed with the association and building inspectors that the electric code in the U.S. and also on a state basis covers "everything back from the wall plug." The standard for Information Technology Equipment is Article 645 of the NEC. These regulations do not even include batteries or battery powered mobile computers/scanners.
SLA means Sealed Lead Acid and refers to the construction of a battery. This means it is a Non-Spillable sealed battery that is maintenance free, meaning that it does not have to have distilled water added to it periodically like a “Wet Cell” or car battery that are also lead acid.
This refers to the leading edge battery design that uses sheets to separate the electrolyte material in the battery in close proximity to the plates. This is to enhance both the discharge and recharge efficiency of the battery
No, we supply new batteries from leading manufacturers. The only items refurbished available on our site are our refurbished UPS systems. Note: Any refurbished battery would be of low quality and short life expectancy compared to a new battery from a quality manufacturer.
This designation refers to the terminal style of the battery.
T1 batteries have terminals with the width of 3/16” or .187”.
T2 batteries have terminals with the width of 1/4" or .250”.
To keep an ample supply of batteries on hand to meet your needs, we are supplied by leading manufacturers such as Enersys, Vision, and Haze. Our supply varies as we cycle our stock to ensure that our customers get high quality at a good value with as fresh as possible batteries.
Yes, we do not charge for our recycling services. To ensure our prices are as competitive as possible we do not charge or build into the price our recycling service. If you wish to recycle with us, you must be willing to pay for postage to ship them to us. Simply ship your batteries to us in a safe manner to the address below.
For example if you are shipping multiple batteries ensure that the terminals are protected so that there is no risk of an electrical fire in shipping.

To answer this question first you must know that APC does not manufacturer its own batteries. All of APCs batteries are re-branded batteries. We do sell compatible batteries to APCs batteries that meet or exceed their specifications.
Unless otherwise specified they do not. We do this to ensure you get the most competitive pricing for your replacement battery kits. If you require a battery kit to have a harness, there may be an additional fee and would be subject to availability. Please contact us throughContact Us form, email, or by Phone at 845-357-6911.
